1. Do your research

Research the company. Know who their competitors are, and what makes their company stand out. You should understand the employer and requirements of the job you are applying for. The more research you do on the company, the better you’ll be able to answer questions about the industry and the position. 

2. Be prepared

Review common interview questions and practice your responses. Strong answers are those that are specific, but concise, using concrete examples that highlight your skills. Make sure that your responses actually answer the questions. Your answers should be relevant to the position. Also, tie in the research you did on the company to your responses.

3. Sell yourself

Professionally communicate why you are the right candidate for the job. Be confident with your body language and sell yourself! Make sure they know why you would be a perfect fit at their company. Dress appropriately, make eye contact, and of course, give a firm handshake. All of these will point further to your confidence. 

4. Be on time

This might seem obvious, but it is very important. It shows you care, and that you have made their time a priority. They need to know that you can be counted on when working with clients. Time is quite literally money, especially in these scenarios. 

5. Follow-up

Follow-up the interview with a thank you email, reiterating interest in the position. You can also include details you may have forgotten to mention in the interview. Send the thank you email out within 24 hours of the interview.
